"Been There ... Done That: Triumphing Over Teen Drama and Trauma" will be an unconventional book that will make a real difference by effectively addressing the following truths - * Life comes with challenges (drama and trauma) * We are all equipped with tremendous inner resources (true power) to deal with these challenges * Relevant "drama and trauma" related true stories that are grounded in this concept of "true power" help to establish crucial knowledge and forethought * Knowledge and forethought guide better decision making * Better decision making in the face of a challenge creates better results for everyone And let us not forget - * Mentors matter That's where you come in! Your story could make all the difference to a young woman in the midst of her own adolescent journey. Whether they are our own or someone else's, the best lessons come to us through stories. Nobody wants to be told how to think or who to be, but people pay attention to compelling real-life stories about real-world things that they are dealing with. Through stories they might see new paths and possibilities, and relatable examples of strength and wisdom and self-regard. They can apply what they've read in their own ways to their own situations, and lives can be changed. Think back to your own adolescent years. What event, realization, or "aha" moment has been especially powerful for you? What experience have you had that others can relate to and find strength in? What story shines a light on your own perception of your own power? It doesn't matter if the challenge was big or little. It doesn't matter if you were tuned into your power at the time or if that didn't come until years later. If this project resonates for you I encourage you to let your intuition be your guide and just start writing. You're likely to discover a whole new level of insight into your own story; be prepared for a fascinating adventure! I've conducted workshops with a variety of young women to see if this book is something that they would really want, and the response has been amazing. They don't want to be preached at, condescended to, or judged. They want honesty, they want to know that they are not alone in their experiences, and they want to see a light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how dark some of those tunnels may be. They want this book. You can be the light at the end of that tunnel. You can be the spark that ignites a fire. You don't have to be an exceptional writer. You don't have to wait until you feel like you've totally got your act together to make a difference. (Have you ever met anyone who honestly felt that way?) You just have to care enough to share the wisdom of having once been where these girls are now. I invite you to take a few minutes to explore the website for project specifics and sample stories, and I encourage you forward links to this website freely and enthusiastically. Thank you!
